TFWS for Degree/BE/BTech Students
The acronym TFWS stands for “Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme”, which is a scheme implemented by the Government of Gujarat to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from economically weaker sections of the society. Under this scheme, eligible students are granted a full waiver of tuition fees for their diploma studies in government or self-financed colleges in Gujarat. The scheme aims to promote higher education among deserving students who may face financial constraints.
As per the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFWS) in Gujarat, 5% of the total seats in a college or institution shall be reserved for admission under the TFWS scheme. Therefore, if there are 60 seats available in a particular course, then 3 seats shall be filled through the TFWS scheme.

College Fee Scholarship:
Students who are admitted to a college or institution under the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFWS) in Gujarat are exempted from paying the tuition fees for their studies. This applies to both government and self-financed colleges/institutions.
Therefore, if a student gets admission to a college or institution under the TFWS scheme, they will not have to pay any tuition fees for their studies.
However, they may still have to pay other fees such as exam fees, library fees, etc., as applicable to other students.
TWFS 2023: Eligibility Criteria for Degree/BE/BTech Engineering Students
- The candidates should be a domicile of the Gujarat state.
- The candidate must have passed Std 12 on a recognized board from Gujarat.
- The student should be enrolled in the first year of the Degree/BE/BTech program.
- The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 6,00,000 from all source
- Only students belonging to the EWS category are eligible to apply for admission under the TFWS scheme in Gujarat.

How to apply for TWFS scholarship 2023?
TFWS Scholarship Application Process
- Step 1 – Students who wish to apply for the TFWS scholarship must first check their eligibility criteria as only students belonging to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category are eligible to apply for this scheme.
- Step 2 – Students can apply for the TFWS scholarship while filling out the online application form for admission to diploma courses in government or self-financed colleges in Gujarat. The option to apply under the TFWS scheme will be available in the application form.
- Step 3 – After filling out the application form, students need to upload the necessary documents such as their caste certificate, income certificate, and other relevant documents to support their eligibility for the TFWS scheme.
- Step 4 – The college authorities will then verify the documents and approve the application if the student meets the eligibility criteria.
- Step 5 – Once the application is approved, the student will be granted admission under the TFWS scheme, and they will not have to pay any tuition fees for their studies.
